Well, finally i had posted up my very first blog in pages of our ledger. Before i started my blog,  i wish to make a disclaimer over here :

1. Mr Tyson, please forgive me for my bad English because i wrote this at midnight after a peak week of working.

Talking about October, i think the word that most related to it is business and vacation.

1,2,3 oct 2012 Sarawak trip. Lol.. i had actually just spend a RM 250 for the whole 3 day trip >.< including accommodation + food + flight + cultural village ticket + souvenir.

10, 11,12 Planned Langkawi trip but fail due to my council members ffk (^$#%$^#%$*^&&^) . So i decide to stay up and continue my business,

14,15,16 Almost been scold my family for holidays 3 weeks but only back for 3 days.

17 Back cyber.

23 School reopen and also my 1st booth at Oldtown Prima Avenue been established.

Hmn.. Ntg special else. What a boring life i had. Lol.. wish to have more to share in the future.

I'd do it all over again

This is sooooo long overdue but I'd like to share with you guys, because I had the best time that week.

I took part in Nike We Run KL 2012 on the 13th of October 2012 (Saturday). I love running. I enjoy the solitude accompanied by the sound coming from the earphones and my own heartbeat when I'm running. It calms me down and keeps me in a happy state of mind.

The streets of Kuala Lumpur was conquered by over 12,000 runners on the day of Nike We Run KL 2012, including Yean See and I. The 10 kilometres race flagged off at 5.30pm. The crowd was so huge I couldn't catch a sight of the starting line AT ALL when I first heard the gun shot. It was a drizzly evening, the perfect weather for a long run, and I ran my heart out. The streets of KL have never been more beautiful than in the 10 km journey, where I ran alongside people of different ages and races, wearing the same race tee. I completed the race in 1 hour and 17 minutes. I was sweat-drenched and could barely feel my own feet at the finish line, but I had a blast. I left the race village feeling positive and contented. Because when you do something you love, you simply don't need any other reasons to be happy.

Guess what I did the very next day?

I went to one of the places I love the most. PENANG.

Sara, Niloufar, Yean See and I went up to Penang for a 4 days stay from the 14th til 17th of October. Darryl was already there a week earlier and he hosted us during the stay. Each of us were excited for different reasons. Sara's reason comes without saying - She was stoked thinking bout' her pancakes & crepes from the famous 'Crepe Cottage' (Muahahaha), while my reason being to be able to step foot in the island puts me on cloud nine already.

My close friends know of my fondness for Penang and they often ask me why. I'd say you don't need a reason to love something, but I know you'd give me the troll face, so I say, I love how the streets look old and filled with history; how the shop-houses have beautiful floor and wall tiles; how the whole place is so rich in culture; how you can see water surrounding the island; how you can find good food in every corner (char kuey kark/char kuey teow/prawn mee/and the ais kacang at Swatow Lane with my favourite papaya in it oohhhhhmygod/apam balik with banana oh.my.gosh so yummy you could die eating it/the crepes at Crepe Cottage especially the one with banana & nutella mygoodness best crepe in the world ever ever everrr/wantan mee at pulau tikus/and ohmygoddddddd Harvest Inn!/the list goes on and on); the to-die-for STRAITS QUAY; and the ultimate experience - that excitement you get as you go on the Penang bridge. But really, you don't need any reason, you'll just love the place. Lol. =)

The awesomeness-filled 4-days stay made my holidays. I had the time of my life with the 4 of them. Oh not to forget, Yean See's and Sara's odd infatuation for lamp posts and road signs that they snapped pictures with almost every of it that you can find in Penang. LOL! And also, the girls had a great time partying in the hotel room. *smirk*

Penang's impeccable beauty can touch one's heart and bring you tears and laughters. It's just, amazing.

Yours sincerely,
Yvonne.

Confronting an old enemy with new allies

25 October - As I hauled my rear end out of my nice, warm bed - or should I say, rack (In the United States Marine Corps, rack is a term describing bed), I was feeling horribly down and miserable as I was dreading yet another stressful day of the first semester week (I will not go into the details; chances are you've probably run into this all-too-familiar crap of  a subject registration process, if you're an MMU student. The long-ass hours of agonizing waiting in the MRT-length queues, all over a piece of document/form/verbal enquiries which probably takes a few minutes of processing, and then having to do them all AGAIN if you do something wrong), and having to awkwardly face my former lecturer all over again (Don't get me wrong, he's one of the nicest, most genuinely helpful guys out there, it's just that my presence might make him feel as if he didn't do a good job tutoring me) as a result of having lost in a long-forgotten battle (aka my Principles of Finance subject). I REALLY hate it whenever a vile, repulsive reminder of my demoralizing past comes back haunting me; a foul remnant of my past mistake or failure which comes back to bite me in my rear end, to torment me, to shame me.

BUT SADLY, to add salt - no, salt simply doesn't cut it - acid, to my semi-healed war wounds that morning, some crap popped up and the whole faculty had to put us on hold, in regards to retrieving our subject registration slips. Just great. Now I have to go through that ordeal ALL over again - and the best part? I literally have to WAIT for Monday to have to go through all that stress (you don't say). Bummer. After confirming my worst fears with the faculty administration, I dragged myself off to the library, hoping to pick up a couple of good books to shake off my doubts - and hopefully, as a temporary fix from all my accumulated stress and exhaustion which had been compounding over the course of the past few days. I picked up a couple good books and plopped myself down onto a sofa and transported myself to the-land-of-no-sorrows, no worries and no crap, and started the process of healing. Truly, it felt like I had subject myself to treatment in a bacta tank (What's bacta, you ask? Go to wookiepedia and look that one up, I won't deviate from my post here) ... all the way up to 3.45pm. (Oh, and in case you're wondering, I did manage to chow down some lunch too.)

With some of my war wounds beginning to open up again, I sighed dejectedly and dragged myself out of the library - out of la-la land - and into the real world, where pain and strife ruled supreme. With each step I made to XR1005, I felt it like a knife wound to my chest. Not only would I have to fight a past battle I lost to all over again, I would be all alone this time, with no friends by my side. That feeling of isolation and loneliness WILL get to anyone occasionally, even to long-time loners such as myself.  However, I comforted myself, saying that regardless of how much shit would be thrown in my face, I would neither run from my destiny, nor would I cower in the face of adversity, no matter how heavily the odds stacked against me were. After (temporarily) re-igniting that resolve, I entered the designated battleground that would contain me for the next 14 weeks, I picked a seat while playing a mental recap all of my past events ....

And there I saw it. A friend I knew from last semester's Microeconomics class. Thank God! He looked as if he was someone whom I could relate to! We saw each other, I waved to him and sat next to him. Before we knew it, we were chatting away like long-lost friends. At least I would no longer be alone in this nightmare! My good luck didn't end there, however. I even met Angee, too, who wanted to retake this subject. Now that I know I'm no longer alone, I feel so much better. Truly, confronting an old enemy with new allies isn't so bad after all. This is all of course assuming that our registering for this subject goes off without a hitch ...

Author's comment: Thank you for taking the time to read this, and sorry if I sounded rude at times. It's just that I've been through so much these past few days.
